Daata is delighted to present Nameless Grace, an exhibition of artists’ films that use classical music to challenge accepted wisdom and offer new perspectives. Screened on the outside wall of the New World Center, home of the New World Symphony at SoundScape Park, this curated presentation coincides with Art Basel in Miami Beach, to highlight both music and digital art’s astonishing capacity for transcendental experiences in the public realm.

Curator and founder of Daata, David Gryn returns to the New World Symphony having curated Art Basel’s Film & Sound programme at this Miami landmark from 2011-2018, followed by Daata’s collaboration with The Bass Museum, screening co-commissioned video works to the public on the outside of the New World Symphony, via a monumental 7,500 sq ft outdoor screen, a 35,000 lumen projector and 160 speakers in a surround sound system.

Founded in 2016, Daata empowers artists to make new work in digital media. Commissioning over 700 new works, working with over 100 established and emerging artists, Daata also curates projects and exhibitions, online and offline, to nurture a broader appreciation of artists working at the vanguard of screen-based art. Through real world projects and collaborations such as this Miami event, Daata aims to develop both institutional and public recognition for artists working in this field, reaching the public at-large as well as established art audiences and those at new frontiers of digital. The city of Miami plays an integral role as it sits at the forefront of new developments in how art is presented and experienced, with the opening of new experiential art centres, its world-renowned public art districts, growing number of public museums, private collections and foundations, as well as it’s reputation for hosting both art fairs and music events.
