Sundown at The Garden with Art and Music

Meet artist Deryn Cowdy in the Butterfly Room Gallery – 6 to 8pm

Deryn Cowdy uses her garden ponds and surrounding hedgerows as inspiration for her work. In this exhibition of gilded photographs, tropical water lilies reflect their ephemeral petals on the cloudless surface.

Deryn was born in London and grew up in a family of artists. She enjoyed painting and sculpture from an early age, and studied Fine Art at Bath Academy of Art.  She now lives in Miami with her husband, their two children and an unruly dog.

Acoustic guitar set by Will Thomas on the Gumbo Limbo Patio – 7 to 9pm

A native of the Deep South (and longtime Beach resident), Will Thomas celebrates 70’s radio classics by Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash – and a little Grateful Dead & Steely Dan for good measure.

Will has written and recorded albums with Muscle Shoals legends, toured Italy and Denmark, and played the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and the Mercury Lounge in NYC.  His local band the Tall Boys has a monthly residency at the Wetlab on Virginia Key.
