In this workshop, students will tackle the classic challenge of drawing the human figure from life. There will be demos and exercises to practice gesture, proportion, movement, foreshortening, form, light and shadow. Students will learn to put marks on paper that will describe what they see in front of them. This course explores the more painterly side of screenprinting by utilizing dye mixtures and freehand painting techniques as opposed to traditional oil or water-based ink. These designs can then be transferred onto fabric sources for unique prints resembling watercolor, acrylic painting and other fine art processes.
