Celebrated for its bold and graphic aesthetics, Screenprinting is a stencil-making process that converts hand-drawn and photo-based imagery into an original artwork. This 3-week course introduces students to the fundamentals of traditional Screenprinting and the tools associated with this practice.During this three-week course, students will have the opportunity to work on freehand/ stencil imagery and basic Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator techniques to work on photo manipulation (not required). The class will learn proper registration (layering) and color mixing techniques to achieve a strong and cohesive composition. Students are encouraged to research and develop creative ideas before the beginning of the course.
Consumable items will be provided during this course. At the end of the course, students will collectively look at the work produced and discuss technical and conceptual successes, skills learned, and future goals.
